Mori Fashion

My watercolor attempt to recreate a mori girl

Yet another attempt. Look at the sunflower!

A few months ago, a certain Japanese fad caught my attention. "Mori" fashion takes inspirations from nature. Basically, it's reminiscent of a girl living amidst the forest wearing mostly neutral colors and wool fabrics. Layering is very important as to create that homey feel which is very laid-back, and with a hint of shabbiness. It appealed to me in many ways: first is because, it is quite girly which is far from my personality (paradoxical, isn't it?); next would be because even if I hate the glaring Sun, I still love to be drowned in nature (I will be a future gardener); lastly, it is very laid-back and it feels like it belongs to a 'pastel-toned' world (which is quite lovely).

I tried doing this in a rendezvous with friends a few months back. Needless to say, one giggled when I told her I tried to emulate a mori girl. *Sigh* I will one day wear this to school; just give me enough time to gather my confidence and replenish my wardrobe.
And with the things happening now, it would be in a few years...dream on.
