I love eccentricities that are grounded in humor.

Jack of All Trades
As part of our
project requirement in a major subject, we were assigned to conduct an interview with a practicing architect - mainly discussing
the services provided and the ethical code of conduct. Our interviewee is a female architect who specializes in residential design and interiors. My
groupmates and I decided to meet-up in a restaurant in Robinson's Metro East. At
first, we were worried that the architect would come much later than the agreed time but with further
pleading, we managed to do it earlier. It was I guess an
added bonus that she is an alumna of our college. Instantly, we all stood
in the same page, laughing at some funny comments and altogether became in awe
of what's happening in the architectural world. It was nice that she's accommodating and open-minded. She told stories on how she managed to be where she is right now. One thing that I won't forget is her take on work ethics- diplomas serve as the ticket to where you're able to work, to get your foot in the door; however, it is your personality that would make your mark and would enable you to stay. We asked her what's the edge of being a UP student compared to other schools' graduates and she dismissed the notion that we are better, because it all depends in one's upbringing and perseverance. A person should always be willing to learn and be a sponge, ready to be able to absorb ideas. It made me realize that with my course, there's a lot of opportunities that could be grabbed, truly making it the jack of all trades. Now I'm excited to graduate and to start exploring on what I can do.
